What Our Customers Say

Jessica

This quaint place is perfect for stop-overs traveling through Flagstaff or anyone staying longer and checking out local sites. We stayed one night with my 2 yr old tho the couch could make a small bed for another child or two. The back is open forest with a hiking path, allowing one to hike as quickly as they can get shoes on. There’s a ton of privacy and the owners are minimally intrusive. They are very accommodating for the delicious and large breakfast they bring you at your requested time in the morning, accommodating all sorts of requests and diet types while using the eggs and veggies from their farm and local artisan products. Such a treat and for an insanely well-priced experience!!

Andrea

I rarely leave reviews but this was one of my best stays. I couldn’t recommend this BnB more. The place was cozy with. a beautiful forest in the backyard. Marlene and Steve are wonderful hosts and made us feel welcome as soon as we got there. She is also an incredible cook. She accommodated our dietary redirections and made us the most amazing breakfast. We can’t wait to go back.

David

Small, cozy guest room seperate from the main home. Very peaceful. Owners are very nice. Served a nice, healthy homemade breakfast! You can go out the back gate of the property and you're literally in the forest! Beautiful! Very much enjoyed our stay!

Teresa

The place was amazing and not at all what we expected. There is a little guest house out behind their residence that backs up to the national forest. Our dog was treated like family and loved wandering the woods. The breakfast the next morning was delicious with homemade nut bread and yogurt and items from her garden. We would definitely visit again if traveling through Flagstaff.

Ryan

Had such an amazing and memorable experience. Place was unbelievably quaint and cozy. We had the fortune of having fresh snow on the ground which only added to the place's charm. Next morning's breakfast alone was worth the price of admission. Steve and Marnie are true pros and superhosts. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Pedro

This is the place if you want no frills and amazing breakfast with the best concierge/cook. Marnie is the best!!!! The park trails are accessible from your room!!!

Breakfast was the best, ever, according to my husband, owners were gracious and accommodating. Nice view of the woods and walking trail out of our window. Shower was a bit small, but the suite was spacious.

Oliver

This was more like staying with good friends than in paid accommodations. The studio is snug and very comfortable, there was a wonderful, homemade gourmet breakfast, and plenty of trails to explore right behind the house. Steve and Marnie are doing a wonderful job. We would definitely stay again.

Very great experience! Owners are very nice, thoughtful and respectful. Although our stay was a last minute, they made sure to leave us with a clean room and had all the essentials. I would definitely come back. Thank you Steve and Marine, you two are wonderful!

We loved our stay at Elden Trails. The minute we got there we felt like we were in a home away from home. The studio is so sweet and the hosts Marnie and Steve were so kind and welcoming. The yard and trees make you instantly feel at ease. It felt like we were in our own private treehouse/cabin. In the morning they bring you the tastiest fruit and yogurt, jams and a magical seedcake....all homemade with lots of love...we could taste it. It is so wonderful to sleep next to the Coconino Forest. We could not recommend this place more. And let's not forget their sweet chickens who provided us with very tasty eggs. Their breakfast and the coffee was wonderful. Our dog Charlie was in heaven too. We are so grateful that we chose Elden Trails B&B for our stay in Flagstaff.

Sincerely,

The Garvins and "Chicken Charlie"

Located on eastern edge of Flagstaff and backing onto the forest Elden Trails studio is a charming place to stay, a haven of wildlife and nature. Rooms are clean and comfortable, towels provided as well as local hand made soap and organic toiletries. Breakfast is sensational and substantial also using local and home made produce.

Marnie and Steve run a really great BnB. Very friendly. The guest cabin is out back behind the main house. Two rooms: Bedroom and sitting room with kitchen table. Comfortable. Lots of windows for light. Very quiet. Backyard opens into a Ponderosa Pine forest. They make a terrific breakfast, too, with eggs from the chickens they raise. We'll be back.

We loved our stay at Elden Trails B&B. The location is close enough to all the fun activities Flagstaff has to offer, while providing a cozy, peaceful place to relax. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay, but for us the top highlights are the gracious hosts, Steve and Marnie and the amazing breakfast they prepared. Proof that healthy, nutritious food can be delicious!

Sara

Peaceful stay backed up to the Coconino Forest! Trails right out the back gate... Homegrown herbs and vegetables from the garden... We requested a vegan-friendly breakfast and Marnie kindly accommodated us! They have chickens in the backyard for fresh eggs in the morning, if that sounds good to you! Beautiful space! Hosts are welcoming, and I wish we could have stayed longer to get to know them better! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful place to stay. Don’t come expecting modern amenities... it’s very comfortable if you’re looking for a quiet place to stay with home grown food and access to a nature oasis right outside your door! There’s a Berkey water filter for purified water inside the guest house along with an electric kettle and a cabinet with teas, coffee, and dishes to use. Heads up: there is no kitchen or kitchen sink in the guest house... there is a mini fridge and a toaster oven to use.

Matt

We stayed here for 6 days and it was so peaceful and enjoyable. Steve and Marnie are so sweet and wonderful hosts. They make an amazing breakfast every morning and were so accommodating in every way. We had family staying at the camp site near by which there is a trail right behind this property that goes right to the camp site. Everything was clean and it was the perfect place to stay. We have a young daughter and they showed her the chickens on their property. They were so sweet to us! Would definitely recommend!

What Our Guests Are Saying

  • "Even though the weather was freezing and it was snowing the hospitality of Steve and Marnie made our stay warm and friendly. They went the extra mile to make sure our stay was comfortable and easy. The convenience to hiking trails was a nice surprise and the breakfasts....well, that's a reason to return all on its own. A big thank you for making our time in Flagstaff wonderful."

  • "Steve and Marney were wonderful hosts and our room was cosy and comfortable. Breakfast was special with everything organic and home made. Walks and wildlife were just out the window and back gate. It was great talking with Steve and Marney over breakfast, they were genuine and engaging hosts. I would recommend this B&B."

  • "A great experience in bed and breakfasting! The food is healthful and delicious. The ambiance reflects the good taste and congeniality of the innkeepers. Comfort and attention to detail are evident everywhere. Will we stay there again? Emphatically yes! We have already made reservations for our next stay in Flagstaff."

  • "Great examples and advocates for sustainable living. This cute studio bed and breakfast provided the quiet night that we needed, unique touches everywhere. Would have enjoyed softer sheets but over all comfortable experience. Owners were great hosts as the left a key and warmed the studio since we were late arrivals. The property backs up to a national forest for our beloved four-legged friends to run free. The most mention-able part of our experience was the breakfast. It was healthy, wholesome and organic. We ate eggs laid that morning from the chickens right outside the studio."

  • "Steve and Marnie are exceptional hosts; very solicitous and friendly. The breakfasts were amazing and healthy. The room is very comfortable and cozy with a separate bedroom, roomy living space and nice bathroom. There is a little frig, hot water pot and filtered water. A microwave would have made the room just perfect. Great place to stay!"

  • "I stayed 4 nights when on a recent personal retreat. The food was awesome and Marnie packed a breakfast for me for the day I left at 6am. The location was exactly what I was looking for - quiet, access to gorgeous trails and hosts that were most helpful with information. Looking forward to returning there again."

  • "Steve and Marnie are exceptional hosts in an industry (B&Bs) that has attracted too many people who are merely interested in revenues. It is obvious that they have captured the spirit of hospitality that guided B&B's previously. It shows in the lodgings, the food, and their level of helpfulness."

  • "I stayed at Elden Trails in September 2013 for three nights before joining a Grand Canyon hiking tour. It was a beautiful spot, with great access to hiking trails and very close to downtown Flagstaff. The cabin is spacious, comfortable, and very quiet. We requested a vegan breakfast and it far exceeded our expectations. Plenty of variety and it was very tasty."

  • "We spent a quiet night in the private suite at Elden Trails. It is attractively decorated (not frou-frou) and comfortable. Our host delivered fresh coffee at our requested time first thing in the morning. The breakfast was delicious, all made from scratch. The fresh egg layers live on site. Out the back gate we had a snowy walk in the woods at the base of Mt. Elden."

  • "This B&B is great! We loved the home like feel of the cottage. The attention to detail, the delightful patio, fabulous breakfast and the hospitality of our hosts make this Bed and Breakfast one we will return to each time we head West."

  • "I stayed here with my girlfriend and her sister last month. It couldn't have been better. Although its a few miles from town, it is right at the heart of great hiking trails. Its set back in a quiet neighborhood which was very nice. The room is very cute and clean. The food was the best part. Breakfast was hearty and healthy. The owners are very kind."

  • "This is our first full summer in AZ and we wanted to get out of the heat of Phoenix. Flagstaff fit the bill and Elden Trails made us glad we came. The innkeepers are very interesting and friendly and the breakfast is delicious. Great hiking and fun historic downtown area."
