Here is a photo of the Bottle House in Goldfield Nevada. The Bottle house is over 100 years old and was constructed during the heyday of Goldfields boom. The main gold boom ran from the early 1900's until 1910 when it was the largest city in Nevada at 20,000. Today, just 270 souls call it home. the Bottle House is made...Cooler days ahead
Great fall hiking weather awaits you here in Flagstaff. Our cool days and chilly nights are great for outdoor adventures. WE have had over two months of almost no precipitation so things are very dry in the woods. We have a number of nights available in December so give us a call. Shopping here in Flagstaff can be a...More rushing water
Here is another look at the racing waters in Buffalo Park. Little Mia was fascinated by the sight and sounds ( and no doubt smells) of the gurgling brook. Much of the year this is dry so its pretty cool to see it running. We may get a bit of snow By Monday but as of now it seems uncertain.Great winter activity
Yesterday my friend Chuck & I did a three mile snowshoe trek through the woods behind ET. The weather was beautiful and the snow was deep with a crust which helped to support our snowshoes. Right now snowshoeing conditions are great so come on up and join us.Mt. Elden rocks
Taking a break from sledding Jessie gazes up at the east face cliffs of Mt. Elden. This photo was taken about 1/2 mile north of Elden Trails Bed and Breakfast.First storm of the season
Here's Jim Cantore checking out the snow atop Agassiz Peak. If he were up there today he'd have a lot more snow to check out. Our first storm of the winter season has coated the peaks white. with up to 14 inches of fresh powder, He would also be in need of some very warm clothes. Skiers planing a trip to Arizona...The Flagstaff bluegrass festival
This weekend the Pick-in in the Pines Bluegrass festival takes place at the Fort Tuthill amphitheater. The event features some great bands on the main stage. A real family fun time. Flagstaff area weather looks great for this weekend.Sunny & mmild fall weather
Check out this winter squash from the Elden Trails Dark Side of the Moon garden. This baby is 15 inches tall and weighs in at 10 lbs. There is one more squash of a similar size still in the garden. Last night we enjoyed some corn from the garden. Our wind battered garden is recovering from the blustery conditions. The...Fall comes to northern Arizona
Now is this a strange tree or what? Perhaps an old lightning strike and the bottom portion survived? We've been observing this odd tree for over 12 years; somehow it lives on. It looks like eventually the rotten portion of the supporting hulk will collapse and despite the living bark that clings to it that will probably...More great sunsets
Two pink sky nights in a row! Man, do we ever have the amazing sunsets! This photo is from the lower east slopes of Mt. Elden looking south. We just had a cancellation for next week so if you'd like to enjoy some of these scintillating sunsets give us a call. You could be sitting on the Elden Trails patio sipping a...Early evening skies a delight
The past few days we have experienced some amazing pink skies after sundown. Last night there were bands of pink from crossing the entire visible sky. This view is from about 3oo yards up the slope from Elden Trails Bed and Breakfast. Our weather is ideal for hiking. Early fall is a great time to be here and enjoy...Rugged terrain but rewarding
The Crevice hike/climb is like no other in this area. You enjoy the sense of being somewhere that few people dare to venture. This is not a route that should be attempted by one person alone. The Mt. Elden Lookout trail o0n the other hand is suitable for a single person as there are almost always other people on the...The Crevice on Mt. Elden
This is not a trail for the faint of heart. In fact its not really a trail at all. The Crevice is a gigantic tear on the south side of Mt. Elden It is quite visible from many locations around town. The route is steep with much scrambling over large boulders and foraging through dense brush. The center of the...Elden Trails B&B garden looks good
Check out his giant winter squash from the ET Dark Side of the Moon garden. There is another one of almost the same size on this plant. This squash is 13 inches tall & still growing! So far its been a good season for beans as we have already harvested a good many. The corn looks promising with about 20 ears developing...Visit in Ladbrokes bingo information.
